Our Instructor

Dale W. Dingledine is a licensed clinical social worker (MSW, University of South Carolina, 1990; PhD, Smith College School for Social Work, 2000), and founder of the Greenville Center for Mindfulness.
Dr. Dingledine worked for many years with the South Carolina Department of Mental Health, both in-patient and community mental health facilities, and taught social work at Smith College School for Social Work as adjunct faculty for Masters students. Dr. Dingledine maintains a private psychotherapy practice and gives professional presentations throughout the Southeast.
Becoming keenly aware of integrative mind-body medicine during more than thirty years of study and meditation, Dr. Dingledine became interested in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) because of its well-established benefits to patients in the health care setting, as well as being well-supported by research. Dr. Dingledine has participated in over 260 post-doctoral hours of training in MBSR and the “relaxation response,” studying with the institutions and leaders who developed the original programs upon which the Greenville Center for Mindfulness is based (see Links). She is also the author of "A New Approach for Adults and Adolescents with ADHD" (SEEN magazine, 3/09/09).
Dr. Dingledine’s in-depth knowledge of stress and relaxation, combined with her background in mindfulness meditation and psychotherapy, make her uniquely qualified to guide you toward taking an active role in your own healing and growth.
"Dale is an extremely valuable resource in the study of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction. Her work and research findings have proved that MBSR is truly a great form of therapy that reaps great rewards for the physical, emotional and mental side of any human being. The professional, yet personal demeanor that Dale exudes upon meeting her is truly what makes her so good at her craft. I would recommend anyone seeking to reduce stress in their lives to take part in her stress redution courses and look to her as a regional and national expert in her field." -Jessica
